There are pretty much no leagues or cliniques for these sports where I live. We do have school teams, but I’ve tried them, and they don’t really teach you anything. (I am on them, though.) How could I learn to get better at these two sports on my own? I don’t have any family members who know much about either one, and I’m limited on supplies. I have a volleyball and basketball, but I don’t have any nets for either sport. (And my parents aren’t willing to invest in them) I don’t have a volleyball court near me (Although there’s a beach volleyball-style court a few miles away, but it takes too long to walk to), but I am near a basketball court. But it’s about two miles away, so I only get the opportunity to go once or twice a week, because sometimes I get home late because of other plans. So how can I get better at the two sports even with these obstacales?
1. I can’t get a net. It’s not the price, it’s our area.

2. My “other plans” are things I can’t avoid. They’re either projects/schoolwork or after school sport teams.

3. I know that I need to practice, but what I’m asking is /how/ to I practice. I don’t know many of the drills that most players go through, let alone any of the skills that should be performed in games. (And I can’t practice if I don’t know what to do. ;] )

What information is included in a high school volleyball scouting report (for a team, not an individual player)? Does anyone have a specific format? Or a blank template? Thanks!

Last season during volleyball, I fell and fractured my dominant foot in 3 different spots and was placed in a boot for about 2 or 3 months along with the restriction of not playing volleyball, jumping, or running for about 8 months. Well, time’s up and volleyball season starts in less than a month. I’m finally allowed to do everything again but this doesn’t give me much time to train for tryouts. Plus, whenever I play I’m always nervous I’m going to get hurt and it ruins my confidence. Because of this and the fact the injury prevented me from working our for almost a year, I’m slower and not as good as I used to be. Any tips on how to get back in shape quickly, build up my confidence, and play better would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
