Hey,

This is my first year doing high school volleyball. And I’m not sure what the rotations for a outside hitter. And tonight is my first game! So I’m EXTREMELY nervous? And ideas what the rotation is, and where I can find the rotations on a website?

usually the coach will tell you what the rotations will be for serve receive, but in each variation, the coach will have a way for you to be on the left side of the court. it will either be a stack, in which the three front row players will gather on one side of the court and wait for the serve. Or, if your on the right side of the court and need to get to the other side, you and the opposite side player will meet behind the middle and crossover, only after the serve goes over.

Your coach should have taught you what the rotations are, and if they didn’t, that’s some poor coaching lol. good luck tonight and its ok to be nervous. that’s a good sign. just change those nerves into energy and adrenaline and you’ll play fine!

Oh don’t be nervous! I play high school volleyball and once you get it, it’s like nothing.Ok, so i’m guessing you play outside? Well, it really depends on how your team does it. My team, and my J.O teams has outside hitters usually start outside. When your in serve - recieve either the setter pushes you up, or if not you’ll go back to short to pass. once you get the ball back and rotate, and your in middle you switch to outside when your team mate serves. When you guys serve recieve you don’t play outside untill the ball goes over the net to their side. So, you’ll play middle offence once. Then, you switch to outside again. Once you guys get the ball back and rotate you’ll be at the right side. When your team mate serves your going to run to the outside postion. Seeing a pattern? On serve recieve you’ll play right side offence once, like the middle, and then once the ball goes over you go to outside. Once you rotate again you’ll be serving or idk, you might be taken out it just depends if you play back row or not. Got it? It’s really simple once you get it. And if you play in the second game, you can watch the outside starter and see how she does it and see where to go and when. Oh yeah, these rotation is called a 6-2 and it the most common.
Try these if this didn’t help —video-how-to*** TRY THIS ONE FIRST

um it would help if you knew what rotation you were running?
but to help you, make sure you are always opposite the other outside player and you should always follow the middle player
