How do you look up old volleyball information?

I’m trying to find information on a guy who played for the Chinese National team a long time ago, and I have no idea how to find information on him.

From looking around on google, it seems like there are almost no volleyball records kept before a certain point.

Any ideas?

if you know the guys name and year he played then go to wiki

No dont listen to that guy. Wiki has a very limited achieve of volleyball players. If that player was not a standout, it would be very hard to find information on him. If he’s a good player, that most people knew at that time, then it would still be hard, because volleyball internationally is very popular in Europe, but not so much in other parts of the world. Try anything you can, keywords of his name, of his team, years, records, etc… If you still can;t find it, go straight to the source of a library, and search the item catalogs. Good luck.

Since the USA women’s coach used to play for China, see if she can help. Lang “Jenny” Ping was a star for the Chinese team a few years ago.
You can try to see if you can reach her through the USAV at
I am not sure if they will forward your email to her or not. I hope so. Good luck.
