but seriously, a seed 1 vs a seed 21 team? canada didnt even make it to the qualifying pools in the ‘08 olympics. i wish the government supported the team more

Who do I write my complaints to? I think Canada creates brilliant volleyball players…but we don’t support them beyond the university level.
Personally, I think volleyball is one of THE most exciting games to watch.

I don’t know that much about being a volleyball fan in Canada. Where can I go to watch games? and how can I pressure the CBC to air games…or CTV Sportsnet (who airs university championships)?
And who should I write about funding?

It thought the men’s indoor team was good?!

Canada had to drop out of the World League 2008 because they didn’t have enough funding, even though they were 1 out of 16 teams in the world that were selected to join. One of the companies that sponsored Canadian athlete’s dropped their funding, and CBC needs 250 grand to play the matches on T.V. Im sure alot like me were looking forward to watching them and some great World League action, but instead well just watch hours of poker and pool, and the same sports highlights all day long.

Might be because people in Brazil actually care about volleyball. According to the sports media in Canada, the only sports that are worth acknowledging are football, basketball, hockey, and baseball (and sometimes soccer).

Since when did poker become a sport? all this t.v. stuff about poker pisses me off. Not just because its on t.v., because spors stations play repeats of poker all day long, and curling, bowling, and billiards. Yet ive almost never seen volleyball.
