Sasha asked:

Last season during volleyball, I fell and fractured my dominant foot in 3 different spots and was placed in a boot for about 2 or 3 months along with the restriction of not playing volleyball, jumping, or running for about 8 months. Well, time’s up and volleyball season starts in less than a month. I’m finally allowed to do everything again but this doesn’t give me much time to train for tryouts. Plus, whenever I play I’m always nervous I’m going to get hurt and it ruins my confidence. Because of this and the fact the injury prevented me from working our for almost a year, I’m slower and not as good as I used to be. Any tips on how to get back in shape quickly, build up my confidence, and play better would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The physical conditioning will come — you need to focus on what you can do well, instead of what you are working to improve. Adjust your thinking and the rest will fall back into place with some discipline of course in your re-conditioning.
Patience, but really, eat clean for a week (no sugar, low fat) and get some cardio and core work in and you’ll feel much much better.
