bump, set, spike. Find a partner to practice with on just bumping and setting the ball back to each other.

Watch the volleyball tourneys they show on TV. But don’t show up to tryouts wearing those tiny bikinis Misty May and Kerri Walsh wear when they’re playing.

u gotta wrok out your legs a lot. it’s not a lot of running, but definitely AGILITY and i guess, speed. just remmber to move your feet all the time and stay low (bend your knees.. kinda like squatting). that way, it’s easy to move around. always try to hussle up and run after the ball even if it looks like it’s going to the bleachers. try to show the coaches that you’re giving you’re 110%. that’s whats they’re looking for. follow instructions in drills and do them right. when you run laps, dont cut corners, or when you do drills and they say run from end to end, and they tell you to touch the end line, TOUCH THE END LINE. no shortcuts. they might come off as sadistic, but that’s theyre job.
also, before you go to bed, try to practice with a vball. like try setting while lying down. it’ll help you with ball control. i promise.
u would also want to work out your arms for strenght for spikes and overhead serving (but u might wanna start with underhand serving first.)
DRINK A LOT. trust me. gatorade or water. wtvr. but drink a lot. red bull is disgusting but it helps a lot. A LOT.
oh, and eat bananas. potassium is VERY important.

those are just a few tips. you’ll learn a lot more from your coaches. good luck.
